Amazon.co.jp はまもなく、iPod touch ホワイトモデルの販売を開始する。入荷時期は未定としているが、「1~4週間以内」となっていた発送時期が「一時的に在庫切れ」になっている。
Appleは10月4日、iPod touchのカラーオプションとして新たにホワイトを追加。ハードウェアには変更が無かったものの、「iOS 5」搭載、「iCloud」との連携などが加わり、従来より3,000円（32GB/64GB）または4,100円（8GB）ほど値下げした。
Apple直販サイトの価格は8GBモデルが16,800円、32GBモデルが24,800円、64GBモデルが33,800円だが、Amazon.co.jp はそれぞれ5%オフ（最大1,845円引き・送料無料）で販売する。
