新MacBook Proでは、15/17インチモデルで2.4GHz（i7-2760QM）、2.5GHz（i7-2860QM）、2.7GHz（i7-2960XM）クアッドコアCore i7が採用されると予想される。また、13インチモデルでは2.8GHz（i7-2640M）デュアルコアCore i7が採用されると思われる。ただし、MacRumorsによると、現状でモバイル最高のチップである「Core i7-2960XM」は、熱の制約があって採用されないかもしれないとしている。
