米年末商戦の好調な滑り出しが報じられるなか、Appleの最新スマートフォン「iPhone 4S」の供給体制に支障が生じているようだと、2人のアナリストが指摘している。
Rodman & RenshawのアナリストAshok Kumar氏は、iPhone 4Sの“ある主要部品”の歩留まりが低く、供給体制に支障が生じるだろうと指摘。どの部品か特定されていないが、12月期の出荷台数に悪影響を与えるとみている。
同氏は今期のiPhoneの出荷台数をおよそ3,000万台と見積もっており、これはウォール街の市場予測の平均を下回っている。Kumar氏はさらに、Appleはハイエンドよりもむしろより低価格帯のスマートフォン市場に焦点を当てる必要があるとも分析している。
また、SusquehannaのJeff Fidacaro氏も、iPhone 4Sの供給体制に問題が生じていると述べ、2〜300万台の減産になると指摘。同氏はiPhone 4Sの12月期の生産台数見積もりを2,600〜2,800万台から2,300〜2,500万台へと下方修正した。
しかし、Fidacaro氏の市場調査によると、iPhoneの需要は依然として高く、3GS/4を含むiPhone全体の出荷台数は2,900〜3,400万台に達すると見積もられている。
Appleは昨年の12月期に1,624万台のiPhoneを販売しており、前年同期比で79〜101%の販売台数増が見込まれている。
