Apple released “iOS 12” which brings improved performance and new features like Screen Time, Siri Shortcuts and more
Apple has just released its latest Operating Systems designed for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch on Monday, Sept. 17. The major software update “iOS 12” focuses on performance boosts and AR Experiences, also adding several new features like Screen Time, Siri Shortcuts, Memoji and more. iOS 12 was first unveiled at WWDC 2018 in June and now available on all devices able to run iOS 11 including 2013’s iPhone 5S, iPad Air and 6th-gen iPod touch. Apple、開発者向けに「iOS 5.1 beta」をシード＝バッテリ消費改善とSiriをアップデート？
Appleはサイバーマンデーとなる11月28日（現地時間）、iOS Dev Centerにて開発者向けに「iOS 5.1 beta」と「Xcode 4.3 beta」を公開した。 「iOS 5.1 beta」（build 9B5117b）はiOS 5.1初のベータ版であり、リリースノートで問題となっているバッテリ消費には触れられていないが、数多くのバグフィックスが行われるようだ。 また、対応端末において音声によるテキスト入力のサポートが強化されると紹介されており、音声認識技術「Siri」がアップデートされて、将来的にiPhone 4S以外の3GS/4やiPad、iPod touchでも使えるようになるかもしれない（AppleInsider）。さらに、BluetoothやWi-Fi、ビデオ録画などの操作機能の追加も噂されている。 また、v5.1 betaのコード内に「iPad 2,4」の記述が見つかっているが、 米Sprint 3G版「iPad 2」の可能性が高いとみられる。
Amazon、iPod touchホワイトを含む新モデルを最大8%オフで販売
Amazon.co.jpは現在（11月5日午後6時）、Appleのミュージックプレーヤー「iPod」ファミリーを最大8%オフにて販売中だ。従来は5%オフで販売していたが、先月末には7%オフに引き下げていた。 本格的な年末商戦に向け、苦戦の続く音楽専用機の販売テコ入れを行ったとみられる。 新しいインターフェースやフィットネス機能が内蔵された新しいiPod nanoをはじめ、ホワイトカラーが追加されて、iOS 5を搭載するiPod touchなど、10月に投入された新モデルが軒並み8%オフとなっている。 【Updated】一部モデルは在庫切れとなったが、iPod touch 32GBモデルはホワイト・ブラックともに8%オフとなっており大変お買い得だ（通常配送無料）。 【Updated #2】現在、iPod nano、iPod touch最新版が最大9%オフに値下げ（2011-11-09 2:00AM）。
